Student Handbook

HPES AM Bus Routes   HPES PM Bus Routes Afternoon Dismissal Dismissal from the regular school day is at 2:30 PM each day. All students not participating in an after school program must be picked up by 3:00 PM, due to safety and supervision concerns. After 3:00, the parent/guardian must come into the school to pick their child up. The Assistant Principal will begin calling parents/guardians at 3:00 to pick their child up from school. Other bus routes and transportation information can be found by clicking on the "Bus Routes" link under the "Parents" tab at the top of the screen.

Remarkable Readers
There was a celebration on Monday, May 14th for all of the students who completed the Remarkable Readers program. 1st and 2nd grade students read 500 pages and completed 1 response activity. 3rd-5th grade students read 750 pages and completed 3 response activities. These hard working students were rewarded with a pizza party in the media center.







Golden Apple Finalist
Ms. Colette Davis was one of the four finalists for the Golden Apple Teacher of the Year! Her profile will air on WYFF 4 Thursday, May 17th at 5pm. You can also click here to see it. Congratulations on achieving this prestigious award!







Carolina Singers
On Saturday, May 5th, the Carolina Singers performed at Six Flags in Atlanta, GA. After a great performance, they were able to enjoy some of the rides and games!

Homeland Park Primary School
Starting in August, Homeland Park will be a primary school with only kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades. All 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will attend Varennes Academy of Communications & Technology. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Ms. Lagerstrom or Mr. Galloway, the principal at Varennes .
